At Minsterley Primary School, the safety of our pupils is of the utmost importance to us.All our staff have up-to-date safeguarding training certificates from Shropshire Council and are aware of the signs of abuse and neglect.
We have designated members of staff to whom concerns are referred and who are here to help you as parents.
These staff have completed Designated Lead Training and attend refresher training as required. In addition, they attend training offered by the Shropshire Safeguarding Partnership to ensure they are fully up to date.

Safeguarding – a definition
The following definition is the one we work by as a school and is Ofsted’s summary of the key points appearing in the Children Act 2004 and the Department for Education’s guidance on safeguarding.
We commit to:
- protecting children from maltreatment;
- preventing the impairment of children’s health and development;
- ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
- undertaking that role so as to enable those children to have optimum life chances and to enter adulthood successfully.
