Nasal Flu Vaccination Clinics
Message from Nasal Flu Vaccination Clinics:
We will be providing clinics around the county over the next couple of weeks for those who missed the Nasal Flu Vaccination. Below are a list of clinics we currently have available:
Tuesday 8th January 2019 – Coral House, Coral House, Longbow, Harlescott Lane, Shrewsbury, SY1 3GZ. 1.00pm to 4.40pm
Wednesday 9th January 2019 – Coral House, Coral House, Longbow, Harlescott Lane, Shrewsbury, SY1 3GZ. 2.00pm to 4.40pm
Thursday 10th January 2019 – Ellesmere Medical Practise, Trimpley Street, Ellesmere, SY12 0DB. 9.30am to 12.40pm
Friday 25th January 2019 – Donnington Health Centre, Wrekin Drive, Donnington, Telford, TF2 8EA – 9.30am – 4.40pm
Please can you disseminate this information to parents and guardians of children aged 4-10 years old (Reception – Year 5). They are able to book an appointment by emailing us on shropcom.immunisationteam@nhs.net or alternatively phone 01743 450800.

Jeans for Genes Day
On Friday children can bring 50p and wear Jeans for ‘Jeans for Genes’ day. No uniform required and own clothes can be worn.

Toasty Tuesday
Toasty Tuesday will begin again tomorrow. The PTA will be selling a round of toast for 20p at morning break on Tuesdays. This is a good way of helping PTA funds and will provide a healthy tuck. If your child would like to buy a round of toast please send them in with 20p tomorrow, ideally in an envelope or purse.
Jeans for Genes Day
On Friday it is wear ‘Jeans for Genes’ day. Please wear your jeans and bring 50p which will be donated to ‘Genetic Disorders UK’.
Forest Schools
Forest School this week will be for Long Mynd and Wrekin Class on Tuesday. Please make sure that your child comes to school in old clothes but brings their uniform to change into if they get particularly wet or muddy. Don’t forget to bring wellington boots in a bag!
Names on uniform
Can you please check that you have put names in all school uniform. There is still boxes of lost property in school waiting to be collected!
Ofsted
As you are aware the school received a two day inspection from Ofsted during the last few weeks of term. I am pleased to announce that the school remains good in all areas! The report has been published online today and you can follow the link on the school website to read the full report. I would like to say a massive thank you to the children, parents, staff and governors for their achievements in working together to ensure that all children have an excellent start in their education.
Homework
From Year 1 onwards children have been set up with online homework. We now have TT Rock stars which in an online multiplication tool where children have the opportunity to win points as they learn their multiplications. We continue to run Mathletics across school where the teachers set maths homework related to what the children are learning in class. As the term progresses we will be giving out certificates for homework completed. Your child will have their own personalised passwords to log on, these will be placed in the back of your child’s reading diary before the end of the week.
Year 6 children
Year 6 children were given an envelope today regarding their application to secondary
school. Applications must be made by 31st Oct 2018. Please ask at the school office if you have any queries regarding this process.
Lunch money
Would you please pay in advance at the beginning of each week & please ensure the money is in a named sealed envelope.
No parking at parish hall
The RAF are holding a cycling event at the parish hall on Wednesday 19th September and unfortunately parking will therefore not be available for school on this day.
